Nate Haug is the author of many Drupal contributed modules and core sub-systems – including the Webform, Image, and File modules – and the original AJAX Framework. He wrote large portions of the WYSIWYG and dialog systems in Drupal 8 prior to pursuing an alternative through Backdrop CMS.
